Located just seven miles west of Portland, Beaverton has a quaint downtown featuring independent shops, restaurants and historic architecture.
Here are some highlights you won’t want to miss on your visit:
- Locally owned shops. Explore unique, independent retailers in our downtown including retro home furnishings stores, a vintage dress shop, a quilt store, an art gallery, a classic motorcycle showroom and a metaphysical book store.
- Beaverton Farmers Market. On Saturdays from February to November, the Beaverton Farmers Market draws food lovers from all over the Portland region to our downtown for the largest farmers market in the state of Oregon! More than 120 local vendors sell produce, flowers, prepared foods and other farm-fresh goodies.
- Holistic health providers. If you’re looking to book a massage, practice yoga or find a naturopath, there are numerous health providers set up downtown, many of whom specialize in alternative medicine and wellness.
- Historic architecture. History buffs will delight in an historic walking tour of downtown. Notable architecture includes the Fisher/Rossi Building (1900), Cady Building (1914), as well as several homes of various architectural styles, including colonial revival, craftsman bungalow, farmhouse, folk vintage and prairie. - Library and City Park. The Main Library is open seven days a week, and features free community programming for people of all ages. Adjacent to the library is Beaverton City Park, feature a large water feature, a playground and green space.
Downtown Beaverton is within a few minutes’ walk from the Beaverton Transit Center. It is home to both the Wes commuter train, light rail and bus station, so it’s connected to a variety of transit options.
